Current Employee - Uk Head Office Employee says

"Biased hiring and promotions (expect almost no diversity or external recruitment) Redundancies happen and those left have to accept more responsibility for no extra pay No work life balance (37.5hr contracts but expected to work 10hr days) 'Yes sir' culture - you cannot implement change, only follow orders No accountability at any level - it's always someone else's fault and nothing's documented so expect hearing blame a lot The carplan is expensive. Don't consider that to be a perk in any regard, you have to pay for your car (there's no allowance) and it's a similar price to leasing from a Dealer"

"Worked there for a long time, bullying culture, largely ignored, terrible managemeant or lack of, backstabbing was rife, teamwork when they felt like it, what did i learn, well one thing how to stand up to bullies and two, i should have told them to stuff there job ages ago and if there was a chance and i later found out the place was i would never have worked there and should have gone with the career choice i had, very self-centred company with a bad attitude problem, there was no enjoyable part it was a daily trudge, the hardest part of the job, listening to managers, supervisors and teamleaders who i would not employ to look after a hamster."

"I worked here for 30 years and there is no loyalty from the company. The work is incredibly hard and laborious tight schedule and aggressive attitude from management. Unsympathetic to personal problems if you want a horrible job and like being treated badly then this is the job for you! Personally I’d give it a wide birth now knowing what I know I have seen new starters leave within one day of starting! As the old saying goes “Buyers Beware!”Good wageHorrible environment/management"

"Worked at Vauxhalls as a production operative from 1998-2006 in the early days it wasn't too bad half decent money...over time the money was average, more work was ploughed on you by the time in motion people...20 seconds = something else to do.The shifts were just long, nights and early starts...the union are in bed with the management...shut down holidays....glad I took the money and ran...utterly depressing place to work another 6 months on top of the 8 years I managed think I'd be swinging from a tree!!!! Put your hand up to go the toilet...not for me,thanks but no thanksNoneRepetitive boring no pay rises or we'll close"

Quality Control Inspector (Former Employee) says

"One minute you can be in and working and the next you can be out on your ear. You never know where you are with them and then they go and sell the company to the French and like ten years before, thousands of men are left without jobs at the drop of a hat."

Production Operative (Former Employee) says

"The pace of work is fast trying to keep up with the line is very stressful. If you make a mistake and don’t realise you have no time to check your work. The management all I can say is try keep your head down they are all bullies especially the production manager bully"

Operative (Former Employee) says

"I was just filling in time after I had left the Army prior to leaving for Rhodesia (As was). Awful place to work- it was simply a HUGE hanger where one could not see the ends of the building for the oil mist in the air! It was a real dead-end job but a job all the same. NO skils involved, just stamina to keep pressing the same button on the same machine. One guy had even moved WITH the factory when it located from Oxfor5d to Ellesmere Port and continued pressing the same button on the same machine he had pressed for the 20 years before that. Boredom was the worst part of the job and the best part was working night so one could see daylight as one went home. (Working "days" one didnt see the sum!). I learned nothing here except it was NOT a place to be.Got paidNo scope for any improvement"

Production Operative (Current Employee) says

"I cannot currently comment due to ongoing changes and uncertainty within the work place due to being acquired by a European company. However morale is at an all time low!"

Team Leader (Former Employee) says

"I enjoyed working at vauxhall until the company was bought out. Then they made redundancies and put everyone under more pressure. The pay was good and the shifts were OK. I didn't much like the travelling"

Commercial Apprentice (Former Employee) says

"training to understand what each department did around the plant. Understanding where each fitted into the production cycle and how to improve things by marginal gains/first jobnone"

"You will be moved from pillar to post on a constant basis. You are not treated with decency or respect by the inept management. The benefits of working here are few but the cost to your health and sanity are immeasurable."

French Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) says

"friendly environment, they do listen to employees. Appear to be undervalued, could be improvements with the way certain things are done.offer fruits and snacks for freehalf an hour lunch"

Daniel Snedden says

"My 26000 mile car has a serious (and dangerous) ABS problem. At 26000 miles this mob are claiming it is wear and tear and therefore cannot help. Sorry, will not help. Another £1000 to this bunch."

"Crap CUSTOMER service and got a meriva that leak and just dont care I have lost hope in vauxhall and wont be a CUSTOMER of them once meriva goes and manager ALWAYS on break and wont take the call ??????"

Pete says

"My partner bought a new Vauxhall a few years ago with a ten year warranty. The warranty demands that the car is serviced by Vauxhall, we have the car serviced at main dealers every year since purchase. We suddenly realised that the warranty had not been updated for the last three years Trying to sort this out has become a nightmare. with rude unhelpful people lying to us on the phone and not doing anything to correct the problem. DO NOT BUY VAUXHALL unless you want no service AT ALL."
